Pay Extra When Possible

Typically, if you just pay the minimum payment on a loan, it is possible that you will end up paying more in interest than you did on the amount you borrowed. This is especially true when it comes to credit card payments.

If you have the budget to do so, pay more than the minimum payment. This is a simple way to decrease the amount of interest you pay long-term and get out of debt more quickly.

Before getting a loan, be sure to check with the lender to see if you can put the extra payments towards the principle as well as if there are any penalties for doing so.

Beware of the Free Hat

Some credit cards offer their users a rewards program - you'll get cash back bonuses, free tickets, and more. In a sense, a "free hat" for using their credit card.

However, its been shown that users who use a credit card spend 15% more than those users who use cash (or even a debt card) for purchases and are at higher risk of getting into more debt.

So the next time you use a credit card with rewards, weigh your spending habits with the rewards you receive. Is it worth it?

Sing Your Way to Savings

Washing your hands is one of the easiest ways to prevent sickness and an expensive doctor's bill.

Wash your hands often with warm water and soap for 15-20 seconds, especially after coughing or sneezing.

To be sure you are washing your hands long enough, sing your "ABC's" while you lather up.
